My take on this track by Kris Menace and Robert Owens (vocals). My first music project in a while ánd with Steinberg Cubase 7.
For the time being here is my latest DJ mix. Funny as I am not a DJ and won’t pretend I am one! I just like to play with music and have lots of fun with it! Deephouse with a little techno and techhouse flavours!
This is my third ‘Eclectic’ mix. Again I have used only free (legal) tracks that producers and artists provided as free downloads.
This is my 80s Memories Remix of Digitalism – Two Hearts.
For this last year I am doing this art class. Just for fun actually. At first I have done these portaits which I derived from earlier vector drawings I have done. But since I wanted to go into a new direction I found this ‘graphic’ style which seems to be the style I will be doing this year.
This track is a ‘bootleg’ remix of a track from DJ DONS. He posted the acapella on Soundcloud for anyone to use it and do their thing with it. Well this is my thing. Trying to give for a kind of techhouse vibe.
With my ‘Various Artists – Eclectia 2010 Experiment’ I got kind of a kick for creating a “DJ Mix” allthough I created it with my DAW (Cubase 6) and not behind a DJ set. It gave me such pleasure that I will continue to make these kind of mixes, or mixtapes, whatever you call it.
The phrase Eclectia is just a name trying to summarize the thought behind it. The tracks used are quite eclectic and range from progressive, techno, techhouse to some funky house. So you could call it a cross-genre mix. I had a ton of fun doing this and probably do another one in the future.
This past year I have been experimenting with real drawing and painting. And let me tell you it isn’t easy! If you are used to the digital accuracy with which you can draw in Illustrator and Photoshop, then having a real pencil and brush in your hand is like being on a different planet.
Wow, it has been somewhat long since my last post. And yet again there is that same old excuse. I have been just busy. With the stuff I do for Gearjunkies and activities in my persoanl life … I just didn’t have anything to share other then I was being busy!
So what do you do when you come across a New Order midifile? Well yes, you take that midifile load it up in your DAW (in my case Cubase) and start making your own remix of a brilliant original.
My take on a track of the new album NON-STOP from Andy Bell. Initially intended for the Do What You Want remix contest…., but I missed the deadline! Ugh!
This is an old one. I think I made this in the previous century even. However with todays tools and knowledge I took another go at it.
Yes, … another remix but again a fun project. As I mentioned many times before, I do these remixes because a) I like doing it and b) you get to work with high quality vocal stems.
This is an older track from me. I produced this around 2004. Sadly I don’t have the original Cubase project files anymore, because else I would have worked on it some more.
The hardest thing when you make a track is to come up with a track title that covers the feel of the track. You don’t want to name it something stupid. This new track has a big city feeling to it, therefore I came up with the title ‘Urban Emphasis‘.
I just finished my entry into the Röyskopp – Tricky Tricky remix contest. I really enjoyed this one, as I enjoyed the James Yuill remix. It is very cool to have the opportunity to work with high quality vocals.
Yes, yes. This turns out to be a great week for my music. First I get featured at Tara Busch’s Analog Suicide Free MP3 Monday. And yesterday I got an email from FilterMagazine that I have been chosen by James Yuill himself as the winner of the ‘No Pins Allowed’ remix contest.
Through Twitter I found the great music by Team9, a music project from down under. Their album “We Don’t Disco” is a free download at their website. Four tracks of that album are available for remixing. I immediately fell in love with “As We Travel”.
After quite some time I have released original music again. It has taken so long because I had lost my appetite for music (production). Call it a writers block or whatever, but it just wasn’t there for a while. Until last year where I started playing around again with some samples and loops.
Introspective is the intro track of a project I am working on. When it will be released I don’t know yet. But here is a first ‘teaser’ for you. It is my first ever music video.
Nothing beats the analog sound of good old vinyl records. This is just a tribute to this medium and a photoshop excercise to create artificial lighting and … stuff.
Artificial free form created from totally scratch, … nothing. Again another excercise in lighting techniques and materials. The metallic form is 100% created within photoshop.
I had this piece lying around for a couple of months now. I didn’t really know for myself if it’s finished or not. Well, … no use in keeping it on my computer, so I decided to release it to the World. Yes, … to you!
